Everyone is having a great time at Food Truck Tuesdays

Food Truck Tuesdays will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on San Benito Street between Sixth and Seventh streets until Apr. 8. Although the weather was cold at the event on March 4, everyone had a great time.

The most popular pizza at Mattia Pizza, owned by Letizia Biagioni and Samuele Polverosi, is Bamba Pizza, which is all-meat with spicy red crushed pepper and mozzarella.

“It’s the second year we have been here,” Biagioni said. “We were in Santa Cruz before we moved here and started working. We love it here, and it’s totally different people.”

“We’re getting a type of calzone,” Andrea Ortiz said. “We heard about Food Truck Tuesdays and we said, ‘why not try it out today.’”

Jesus Zavala owns JJ’s Breakfast and Burgers, located at 300 street in San Juan Bautista, and has been in business for 20 years.

“It’s my first year doing a food truck,” Zavala said. “It’s been kind of slow, but hopefully, we’ll get a little more busy eventually when the weather gets better.”

Tacos Las Cascada owner Ray Naranjo said his three taco plate is his best seller.

“It’s three tacos, rice and beans,” he said. “You can’t go wrong with that. This event is good for the community. There’s lots of people coming back and forth and a lot of vendors out here.”

Blake Kostielney has been with the Hollister Downtown Association for a year. “The tacos at R&R Food Truck are my favorite,” he said.

This was Marcos Villagomez and Jocelyn Preciado’s second time at Food Truck Tuesdays. Preciado got a baked potato, and Villagomez got Mexican food.
