Many parents in San Benito County are looking for ways to give their kids opportunities to stay active during the winter. Some longtime locals, as well as families who have made this community their new home, are looking for sports programs or activities for children. BenitoLink has compiled a list of before- and after-school activities, as well as weekend programs available to children locally.
Many sports teams are just finishing their fall seasons and will start again in the spring. They include:

A few places within the county also have before- and after-school programs, ensuring children have a place to stay while their parents are still at work.
Fusion Kids Center, for example, provides a fitness-based program to keep kids moving. Morning sessions are from 6-8:30 a.m., and afternoon sessions from 2-6:30 p.m. Transportation to and from all Hollister schools is available.
Several schools, including Spring Grove School, Cerra Vista Elementary, Ladd Lane Elementary, Rancho Santana School, and Southside School, have partnered with the YMCA of San Benito County to provide after-school programs with varying programs and fees. Rancho Santana School has a “safe spaces break camp” along with summer day camps, providing a space for kids to go on breaks from school or while their parents are at work.
With everything these programs offer, children should have enough fun to last the year.
