A big part of the holiday season is giving gifts to those close to us, but an even bigger part is giving to those in need. On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Community Foundation for San Benito County highlighted three special funds for those looking to donate to a worthy cause—and is still accepting tax-deductible contributions throughout the giving season. The funds are the Latino Generations Endowment Fund, the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation and the Community Foundation for San Benito County itself.

The Latino community makes up a large portion of San Benito County, and the Latino Generations Endowment Fund is available to help these individuals succeed and reduce any disparities they may face. Its mission is to “create a permanent revenue source to invest in the most pressing needs facing the Latino community within San Benito County.”

The fund gives the local Latino community a voice, providing education, leadership and ways for individuals to connect with county leaders. Ways to support the fund include contributing to the scholarship program, becoming a corporate partner, and making donations.

The Women’s Fund works to help women create equity, continue their legacies within the community, and “empower women through education, resources, and funding to achieve equity, self-sufficiency, and well-being.” Donations allow the organization to continue providing resources and education for county women.

The Community Foundation relies on donations to the Operating Fund to keep the organization running. Every member of San Benito County benefits, with all donations going to projects that help and improve the community with grants to qualifying nonprofits.

The Foundation’s website provides more information on these funds, along with three others being highlighted this season—the Sonny Paullus Grant Fund, the Martin Rajkovich Children’s Fund and the Field of Interest Funds—with links to donation pages.
