With the passage of Measure X, the people of San Benito County have spoken loud and clear: preserving local access to lifesaving care is a priority for generations to come.
Measure X allows us to proceed with negotiations with Insight and work to safeguard Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, maintain our clinics that serve thousands of residents, and ensure our community has access to life-saving care all right here in San Benito County. Together, we can achieve a future where healthcare remains local and accessible to everyone.
This journey has not been without challenges, but it is now time for District and County leadership to move past differences and align for the common good. We share the same goal: preserving local healthcare. Now, we must set aside past differences and move forward—united.
Insight has demonstrated a strong commitment to becoming a valued part of our community. The term sheet, shaped through months of negotiations, meetings with members of the public and our Board, reflects this collaboration and dedication. Insight provides the expertise, resources, and capital necessary to stabilize Hazel Hawkins and expand services, positioning our community for a bright future.
The opportunity before us is clear: by working together, we can ensure that Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital continues to serve as a beacon of care today and for generations to come. It is our collective responsibility to deliver on this promise—quality, lifesaving care for you and your loved ones, right here at home.
