Community FoodBank of San Benito is partnering with other essential service organizations in our community to raise funds and awareness this holiday season. The 12 Days of Giving campaign – which raised $156,000 last year – brings together four organizations to support the needs of our neighbors right here in San Benito County. From December 1-12, 2024, neighbors can support neighbors through:

Community FoodBank of San Benito

CASA of San Benito County

Emmaus House

Sun Street Centers

The issues these organizations address include hunger and food insecurity, children in foster care, domestic violence, and alcohol and drug addiction.

Community FoodBank distributed 3.5 million pounds of food last year. That’s an increase from the 1 million pounds we distributed per year when we ran the 12 Days of Giving campaign in 2019. This food goes out to folks in our community having a hard time making ends meet, families with children, individuals, seniors…our neighbors.

You may have seen “Benny,” our mobile food pantry, around town. Last year, we distributed 352,000 pounds of fresh, healthy food from the pantry truck.

“Week after week, our community comes together with heart and dedication, volunteering to keep the mobile pantry rolling through Hollister and beyond. This past year alone, over 400 volunteers have generously shared their time and energy, fueling hope and nourishing neighbors. Together, we are building dignity, sharing abundance, and nourishing lives – making a lasting impact for everyone we serve.” – Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez, Executive Director, Community FoodBank of San Benito

You may also see our work in the local school system. Community FoodBank distributes snack bags every week. They go home with children whose households struggle buying enough nutritious food for their family. Each bag has healthy snacks to get the kids through the weekend when they don’t have access to school lunches or breakfasts.

Supporters who donate during the 12 Days of Giving will have their gifts matched by generous local businesses. Double your donation today!

In a well-nourished community, children learn better, healthcare costs are lower, and seniors don’t have to choose between food and medicine. Donors can feel good about supporting their community, as well as an efficient group of nonprofits striving to make our community healthier.

Please help us surpass last year’s fundraising amount. The more we raise, the more people we can serve this holiday season, and year-round.

To donate, visit https://www.communityfoodbankofsbc.org/donate/.

Donations can also be mailed and delivered to:

Community FoodBank of San Benito

1133 San Felipe Rd.

Hollister, CA. 95023

Please include “12 Days” in the memo field to ensure your donation counts toward our matching funds campaign. All contributions will be distributed following December 12th. We appreciate your support!
