The California Highway Patrol announced a Hollister woman and a Gilroy man died in a Hwy 25 head-on collision on Oct. 28.
According to the news release, approximately 12:33 a.m., CHP officers responded to a possible crash on Hwy 25 south of Bloomfield Avenue and found two vehicles blocking the roadway. Both drivers were unresponsive.
CHP said the preliminary investigation found the 24-year-old male driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra southbound Hwy 25 swerved over to the northbound lane and collided with the 35-year-old woman driving a 2012 Dodge Charger.
Hwy 25 was closed for about five hours for scene investigations.
“It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision and it is still under investigation,” the release said.
