How Will You Spend 12 Days of Giving?

12 Days of Giving is a hometown campaign that raises funds for local nonprofits to provide life-sustaining services. Five organizations have joined together with a goal of raising $50,000 December 1–12 to directly help San Benito County residents. Try to match these participating nonprofits with each of the 12 Days of Giving below:

Emmaus House

Community Food Bank

CASA of San Benito County 

  1. On the 1st day of giving, to support a safe recovery, we gave a check for housing, nutrition, and sobriety
  2. On the 2nd day of giving, for families who need food, we gave to end their hunger, and help their kids feel good
  3. On the 3rd day of giving, to keep a mother safe, we gave a check for shelter, clothing, and for faith
  4. On the 4th day of giving, for children with no family, we sent a gift for advocates to help them on their journey
  5. On the 5th day of giving, we felt it would be fair, to give a check for camp or to pay for childcare
  6. On the 6th day of giving, we gave to save a life, from fentanyl, and cannabis and alcoholic strife
  7. On the 7th day of giving, we were sitting down to dine, and passed the hat for money to support a DV hotline
  8. On the 8th day of giving, since our livelihood was ag, we gave for senior shut-ins, who need food sent home in bags
  9. On the 9th day of giving, we embraced a second chance for women to rebuild their lives, recover, and advance
  10. On the 10th day of giving, my daughter said to me, let’s donate for a child to play in sports like me
  11. On the 11th day of giving, safe in our own home, we gave a gift to help the kids who are facing life alone
  12. On the 12th day of giving, with many gifts to show, we celebrated kindness of folks in San Benito

Save a place in your heart and donate December 1 – 12 to these local organizations: Sun Street Centers Hollister Women’s Residential & perinatal Program: Pregnant women and mothers of young children often struggle to find treatment, knowing their children are at risk of placement in foster care.  Sun Streets Centers’ 90-day, state-licensed, substance abuse recovery program delivers services in a safe, home-like environment  where young children can stay with their parent during recovery. 

Community Food Bank of San Benito County: The Food Bank’s mission is to end hunger. Its vision is that no resident suffers from hunger or malnutrition in San Benito County. 

CASA of San Benito County: Casa of San Benito County provides trained child advocates for foster children from our community. While in foster care, advocates ensure the children have a voice and a responsible adult supporting them in the court room, class room and the community. 

Emmaus House: Emmaus House is a nonprofit organization providing shelter and assistance to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. 

YMCA of San Benito County: YMCA provides programs that develop youth, support healthy living, and foster social responsibility. Memberships include access to Wellness Centers and group exercise classes, summer camps, youth sports, art and humanities, tutoring and dance programs.
