The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9242 is proud to announce the 21st Annual Veterans Day Parade, set to take place on November 11, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in downtown Hollister. This year’s parade promises to be the biggest and best yet, celebrating the bravery and sacrifices of our veterans.
The parade will feature a variety of participants, including patriotic floats, classic cars, school groups, emergency agencies, marching bands, and much more. Local veterans, including those who served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, are invited to ride in the parade or be recognized for their service.
Volunteers with classic cars will provide transportation for these honorees.
Event Schedule:
11:00 a.m.: Veterans Appreciation Ceremony and Banner Presentations at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito Street.
12:00 p.m.: BBQ Lunch at the Veterans Memorial Building. Lunch is free for veterans and $15 for others.
1:30p.m.: Veterans Day Parade begins.
The morning banner presentations will honor local active-duty military personnel with banners displayed on light posts in the Veterans Memorial Building plaza and along San Benito Street. These banners will remain in place until the service member returns home.
“We invite all groups, young and old, to participate,” said parade organizers. “Marching bands, musical groups, and equestrian entries are also encouraged to join us.”
