A new set of EV chargers is coming to Hollister, this time next to Taco Bell located on Tres Pinos Road. The chargers are being installed by EVgo, an electric vehicle fast charging network. The location will include five units for a total of 10 chargers. Two of the charging spots will be ADA accessible.

Five Delta 350kW chargers and cabinets were being installed, along with a utility transformer, during the last week of September. There is no date set for when the charging station will open for business.

The Delta 350kW is one of the fastest EV charging stations, and can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes to charge a vehicle’s battery back to full. This will be the county’s first 350kW charging station.

EVgo has one other charging station in town, located in the Lucky’s parking lot on McCray Street. The location has two units with four chargers, and includes two types of 50 kWchargers.

EVgo isn’t the only company with EV chargers in Hollister. Other types of charging stations can be found at these locations:

Each charging station location in Hollister varies in price, and rates can change depending on peak hour service times.

Note: The charging stations at Target, the SBC District Attorney’s Office and the SBC Auditor’s Office are currently free.

The BenitoLink Internship Program is a paid, skill-building program that prepares local youth for a professional career. This program is supported by Monterey Peninsula Foundation AT&T Golf Tour, United Way, Taylor Farms and the Emma Bowen Foundation.
