A new development in the Santana Ranch community is offering retail locations for lease. Located on the northeast corner of Hillcrest Road and Fairview Road, it’s planned as a grocery-anchored shopping center that will feature other shops and possibly include a drive-through restaurant.

The project consists of seven buildings totaling 62,750 square feet of retail space and approximately 250 parking spaces. The anchor stores will be between 20,000 and 42,500 square feet. The rest of the buildings will range from 1,600 to 6,000 square feet.

The Santana Ranch Specific Plan, which was finalized in 2009, allows for a wide variety of uses in this retail space. Its neighborhood commercial land-use table shows what is permitted, conditionally permitted and not permitted.

Permitted uses include automobile service stations, banks, beauty shops, a car wash, coffee shops, dry cleaning services, flower shops, grocery stores, indoor and outdoor dining establishments, ice cream parlors, laundromats and a wine bar.

Conditionally permitted uses include, day care centers, small garden centers, a small movie theater (under 300 seats), public service facilities, and a drive-through restaurant.

Uses that are not permitted include, auto sales and storage, bars and nightclubs, building supply and lumber sales, farm equipment sales, large garden centers, hotels, motorcycle, boat, and jet ski sales, trailer rentals or travel trailer sales.

The development is being offered by the Econic Company, which says it’s currently in the early stages of marketing the property.

The project is planned to be built in 2026. The Santana Ranch community already includes a K-8 school, a new park, and 1,092 residential units—a mixture of single family homes and apartment units.
