This special day is more than just a celebration; it is a tribute to the deep roots of the Catholic faith that have guided and shaped the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Mexican people. Old Mission San Juan Bautista stands as a beacon of this enduring faith – a faith that has played a pivotal role in the fight for freedom, justice and the preservation of our cherished traditions.

Throughout the day, immerse yourself in the vibrant celebration with delicious Mexican food, lively games for children, and inspiring live music that will resonate with the spirit of our ancestors. This is an opportunity to celebrate the profound impact of the Catholic faith on our culture, our fight for freedom and our ongoing journey to keep our heritage alive in this great land.

Mexican Independence Day is a day to honor those brave souls who fought for the freedom of the Mexican people. Their struggles were not only for political freedom but also for the freedom to practice and preserve the rich Catholic traditions that have been passed down through generations. These traditions are the are the lifeblood of our community, imbuing us with a sense of identity, purpose and belonging.

As we come together in fellowship, we not only celebrate the legacy of Mexican independence but also the welcoming spirit of California, a place where people of all nationalities have been blessed to keep their roots and traditions alive, passing them from generation to generation. Mark your calendar and bring your family and friends to this day of joy, reflection and unity. Let us honor our past, celebrate our present and look forward to a future enriched by our shared faith and cultural heritage.
