Wildfire season is here and, as a community, we need to be prepared! Residents of San Juan Bautista and Aromas areas are encouraged to participate on July 17th, 2024, from 5:30-8:00 pm at St. Francis Retreat in San Juan Bautista for a Community Meeting to hear about and contribute to the San Benito Wildfire Resilience Program. The program partners are facilitating the 10-year update of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the residents of San Benito County, last updated in 2010. As wildfire frequency and severity continues to increase, it is more important than ever for our communities to have a plan in place to prepare for, reduce the risk of, and adapt to wildland fire events. Click HERE for event details and registration, which can also be viewed on the attached image.

Dinner will be provided to registrants, courtesy of UC Cooperative Extension. Please share this important information with your neighbors and friends, especially those who live in the high wildfire risk areas of San Juan Bautista and Aromas.  Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting, but additional community meetings will be held in the areas of Tres Pinos/Paicines and South County — details coming soon! For more information, email sanbenitowildfireplan@gmail.com.
